With very good bulb heatsinking, & an integrated LED heat protection circuit you should be safe – particularly if there is some ventilation gap. From memory LEDs don't attract insects as much as other lights. Bunnings say that a couple of 20W CFL, or LED bulbs can be used – so a punt is reasonable.
Yes the new Wifi controller will control the older model lights as well. So if your planning to have more than 4 groups of any RGBW or Dual white get another bridge and you'll double the groups of each type of light.
